I started writing music when I moved to Austin TX in 2008. I was originally a drummer but could not bring my set with me, I was able to bring by brothers guitar though. I was new to the area with nothing to do so I started to write. The first song I wrote was titled Living to Die soon followed by Broken Halo. From there I knew I wanted more. I wanted to be in a band. I put an ad on craigslist which was answered by a few people but the only one that came with recordings of themselves was Rob Alaniz. We went off to create Betrayed By Sorrow. I wrote the music for their debut album After the Fall excluding the lyrics.
(From BBS Website) In July of 2009 the band released their debut album, produced by Craig Lawrence at the Pirate Studio in Austin Texas, and Mastered by Multi Grammy award winning engineer Rob Burrell. Within two weeks after the record hit the street, it was placed in rotation and added to radio station play lists in Central Texas, most notably KLYD RealRock 98.9. Since that time it has received airplay on over 50 radio stations across the Southern United States. Betrayed by Sorrow took great pride in their performance at many high profile shows. Some of which include the Texas Bayfest and the Belle Opry House in 2009, and stand-out performances at Six Flags Over Texas and SXSW in 2010. Some additional achievements the group has managed to pull off were an iPhone application in October of 2010 and having a song featured on the Xbox360 game Rockband, released May 31st, 2011. The band has been inactive since October 2010 but is planning for a return in 2012. Betrayed by Sorrow is preparing new material for preproduction of their next album. Their current album After the Fall is available on itunes, Amazon, Amazonmp3, Napster, and Rhapsody. I am currently writing instrumentals for whoever wants to hear them. You might hear a few of them on the next Betrayed by Sorrow cd. Thanks for reading.
