Salt is a three-piece Noise Pop band. It has been labeled many times as: “A modern Nirvana sound”. They normally rest their weary heads in the Northern Colorado area. The members include 21 year-old Davy Langerak (Guitar/Vocals), 23 year-old Kyle Henderson (Bass), and 21 Year-old Walter White (Drums). Salt has been together since May of 2011, and in that short time they have been nothing but dedicated to the band. With a practice schedule of at least five times per week, a number of local party shows with great reactions, and a blooming fan-base, Salt headed to Denver’s Big Ears Recording studio and cut a four song demo in late October, 2011.
After completion of the demo, Salt focused their energy on booking shows at actual theatres and clubs (though they still love to throw down at a party). Their sights aimed mostly at the Fort Collins and Denver areas. To promote themselves and the shows they use resources like social networking, digital flyers, kid-napping, and going to similar genre shows to pass out flyers. This has been proving successful, they average at least two shows per month with an impressive draw. Some venues they have recently performed at (and have been asked to come back) are The Lion's Lair, Oriental Theater, and The Toad Tavern in the Denver area. In Fort Collins they have performed at Hodi's Half Note numerous times and were a part of the annual FocoMX festival. The band quickly skyrocketed to immediate success similar to their influences; Nirvana, The Doors, The Gun Club, and Hunter S Thompson. It was too much to handle. Davy was later found dead at age 27 due to a Heroin overdose. Kyle and Walter went on to do some solo-work that had less than favorable reviews, thus going into hiding. They only re-surfaced to announce the release of a Salt “Greatest-Hits Box Set” 25 years later, again, with less than favorable reviews.
Lastly, you can help make that last paragraph a reality! Salt’s following is rapidly growing with every performance. They are three funny, talented, and charismatic stooges that win over new crowds with ease, and never fail to consistently impress fans who know what to expect. With music sounding heavy enough to have an edge, but not over-board to keep a mainstream popular foundation, they are a band to keep an eye out for, especially in the event of a performance in your area.
