Soul Distraction blends Classic and Modern rock (ala Bad Company meets Halestorm) with a touch of Pop influence (Kelly Clarkson/Pink). Formed in Summer 2006, this Pacific Northwest band is mesmerizing audiences like Ron Trembath (music reviewer on Fensepost.com): "There is no dilemma of rationalization in listening to their music."
Currently, they are promoting their latest single, Talk About It Later, which was released at the end of February 2011. The song Down from their Ticket To Paradise album, written by vocalist Elsa Faith and rhythm guitarist, Marty Mitchell, received an Honorable Mention for the 16th Annual Billboard World Song Contest.
Elsa & Marty are backed up by talented and experienced musicians: C.H.A.D. on bass, Jesse Cruz on lead guitar, Brett Maverick on drums and sessionist, Steff Beauchamp on Keys. They all began with influences like Black Sabbath, Aerosmith and Rolling Stones but have channeled their appreciation to the dynamics in songwriting from bands such as Three Days Grace, 30 Seconds to Mars and Sixx AM. All of them shared the same musical goal, making them a strong unit and very focused on what to achieve within the next five years. Together, they had the opportunity to perform at the Oregon Convention Center for the Portland's Action Sports Expo and also in-stores at famous retail outlets, GAP and Hot Topic. Soul Distraction was also the opening act for renowned underground hard rock/industrial metal band, Genitorturers, at the world famous Whiskey A Go Go in 2006.
Be intrigued with their latest video of their provocative song, Raining In Paradise. "I'm sure that we'll be hearing a lot more from them in the future." - C.W. Ross (Senior Writer for Indie Music Stop)
