Terrance Bell / Bio

Terrance Bell is now living the life he often dreamed of as a child, of inspiring and helping others in life. This multi-talented worshiper began singing at the early age of three. Terrance started playing several different musical instruments at seven years old. At the age of twelve, Terrance began directing the youth and young adult choir at the church he attended in Houston, Texas. He continued in this capacity until his graduation from high school. Before graduating from college with a BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Terrance accepted a position at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church serving as Director of Music for eight years. The church experienced both literal and musical growth under his leadership.

After a long tenure at Jones Memorial, Terrance carried his anointed and versatile music ministry to Progressive New Hope Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where he served as Minister of Music. He enhanced their music ministry tremendously and helped transcend the entire church’s worship service. After his stint at Progressive New Hope Baptist Church, Terrance then took on the Minister of Music position at First Shiloh Baptist Church.

The release of Terrance’s 2003 debut CD “Preserved” exposed his powerful worship style to the nation. It also captivated the ears of many influential music personnel. It received such critical acclaim that it garnered him 1st ballot nomination for the 46th Annual Grammy Awards in the categories of “Record Of The Year”, “Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album Of The Year” and “Best New Artist”.

In January of 2004, Terrance decided to broaden his career and ministry and devote full time to his ministry, music, singing, production and other business adventures. While touring and with the emergence of his music career, Terrance decided to work with other artist in all music genres. He launched Virtual Valor, an independent record label and entertainment company. This company allowed him not only to produce and write for other artists, but it produces and promotes concerts, plays, workshops, seminars and more. He is also actively involved in local, state and national music workshops and seminars.
Terrance still works with youth in the Greater Houston area, teaching them proper vocal technique and piano.

While always working on his music, Terrance finds time to give back to the community. He has produced events that inspires, empowers and benefits humanity. He founded the Hope Of Faith foundation that has produced such events as Galveston County Hope. An event that included Bishop TD Jakes, Fred Hammond, many pastors from the Houston/Galveston area, and others who came together to inspire and uplift the lives of families after the devastation and destruction of Hurricane Ike. Hope Of Faith also produced Hope For Recovery, a gospel concert given to encourage victims of substance and domestic abuse. These types of humanitarian efforts are what drive Terrance to continue fulfilling his God given purpose in life.
These community efforts have also gained Terrance the honor of receiving a Congressional Certificate of Recognition as a Houston Achiever. He’s also a YMCA Houston Achiever Honoree.

Terrance’s latest CD “Relative To Life” has touched lives worldwide. Several hits have impacted radio and television. Hits such as “Expect To Receive”, the powerful song “Redemption” and the anointing worship song “I Call Him God”.

Terrance is currently working on two new publications. An inspirational book entitled “True Life” that will encompass spiritual quotes and bible scriptures, incorporated with his personal life experiences. The other is an educational book entitled “The Ability To Sing”. This book will instruct readers on understanding their voice, how to properly use it from a technical perspective and maintain it from a healthy standpoint. While writing this book Terrance has realized the importance of this knowledge reaching singers and speakers all over, so he has also launched a series of vocal health workshops entitled “The Ability To Sing and Speak - So We Can Worship”. www.theabilitytosing.com

Terrance often says “I just want God to preserve my life. I make no excuses or justifications for my set backs, nor failures in my life. I am going to make mistakes and I am going to stumble sometimes. But in my heart I have salvation, with this I will receive deliverance, and if I trust and believe in God, Redemption is what He’ll give me.”

Terrance is now working on his next CD project “Reveal Renew Restore” 2013
