One day Ray's logic teacher at Irvine Valley College was describing to the students how brain-teasers are healthy for one's mind. He paused for a moment trying to think of an appropriate analogy. He then said, "think of it as mental broccoli- it's good for your mind." Thus birthed the inspiration for the Mental Broccoli Project.
Here's a few things you may like to know about us:
We are inconsistent with our music genres, not experimental.
We are a project and therefore not just a band; we like to explore all forms of artistic expression.
We are concerned with the progression of the human race.
We are Americans, although, many times we wish we could say we weren't. (Thanks to an abusive Uncle... Sam.)
We are realist for non-violent resolutions, not idealist for ultimate peace and love.
We want to help ourselves and we want you to feel the same way about your self so ultimately we can help each other.
We record all instruments with a Tascam Digital Portastudio DP-01 that we got for $20 from Guitar Center (floor model- hungry salesman). We use a Shure SM57 and a Rhode NT-1A for all recording. Mixing and mastering is done on Presonus StudioOne and sometimes GarageBand by ourselves.
Your mind's the limit in the Mental Broccoli Project- we seriously hope you enjoy.
