The Paul Abella Trio has one goal in mind when they're playing for you: to make jazz fun again. Since forming in late 2006, they evolved from a jazz trio with a small footprint into an enigmatic unit that fuses jazz, samba, rock, blues and folk music into a singular whole. Walking the line between edgy jazz group and crunchy jam band like a Flying Wallenda on a tightrope, very few bands can lay claim to their sheer eclecticism.
That eclecticism has served them well. At the restaurants, clubs, private events and bars where the paul abella trio regularly works, the ability to bounce from genre to genre, while mixing in plenty of classic rock and pop hits is appreciated by customers that want to hear something at once familiar and sophisticated.
In 2013, The Paul Abella Trio will release their second disc, A Change In Plans. A collection of originals that span from George Benson influenced jazz to Dave Matthews inspired pop and many points in between, it is sure to please the trio's fans and make for new ones in the process.
