Christian Kohran & The Reverends / Bio

Christian Kohran was born into a musical family in Tennessee. He grew up listening to the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and some home grown gospel. His family put out gospel records for years. So take a little folk and a lot of soul, mix it with faith, and you get Folk n' Rock. Christian wrote his first song at the age of 5 with his cousins in Virginia. "I knew that day that I wanted to be on stage singing what was in my head." says Christian.

Kohran fronted several bands in the 1990's and early 2000's before going solo in 2002. Some still look fondly on his time in Biscuit, Barechild, and JP and The All-stars which featured Jim Larkin on keyboards. His brothers (Preston M. & Chris 'Gibson') were a big part of his early playing career playing with him in those bands. "Family is music, and music is family", says Christian. "If you aren't brothers and sisters before the show, you are after!"

Since 2002, Christian has been playing and writing up and down the mid Atlantic and Appalachian Mountains regions, with numerous stops in Nashville. While in Nashville, he has performed at many of the notorious venues including Bobby's Idle Hour, The Commodore Lounge, and The Bluebird Cafe to name a few.

He is also a 7 year veteran of the Nashville Songwriters Festival and has performed locally at the Blue Plum Festival.

He started playing with Reverend Sam Williamson in 2005.
The band is excited to be performing at the 2011 Rhythm & Roots Reunion in Downtown Bristol TN/VA.

Christian Kohran is very proud to call the 'Birthplace of country music' his home!
