SSLMixingOnline.com is the brainchild of acclaimed Los Angeles music producer/mixer James Lugo. After more then 2 decades of success in the highly competitive music market of LA James and his wife desired a new life for their kids outside the intensity of Hollywood. In November 2011 they relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina. His new lower overhead was an opportunity to offer something to artists that he could never have in the past - have their music mixed on the ultimate console, an SSL E Series, within an affordable budget. The concept being we will mix your record on our SSL 6048 E|G+ board while streaming live where ever you are, you're listening via Source-Live and watching and talking using Skype. You are in the room being able to be a part of the mixing experience. We will discuss sound, approach, effects and levels together as a team as the music plays and we mix. Then as songs come together we'll FTP you masters to hear in your own listening environment (home, studio, iPod or car) and make mix notes and changes. We can then discuss fixes live online as the mix is split out on the console and make all the changes needed until your music is at it's full potential. In addition to the SSL console we are using a hybrid of Protools HD5, boutique outboard gear and cutting edge software with Apogee convertors and an Antelope Master Clock. We also offer vocal tuning, drum editing, drum replacement, mastering and reamping if needed using our array of guitar and bass amps and cabinets.

James Lugo's mixing mentor and teacher Ryan Williams (Paramore, 30 Seconds To Mars, Staind, Pink), is a former engineer for Brendon O'Brien at Southern Tracks in Atlanta. He also work side by side for years with LA mixer Gregg Sartiano (Snoop Dogg, Warren G). Decades of experience coupled with Ryan and Gregg's tutelage have helped James to master some of the best and most cutting edge mixing techniques used today. We also have a team of professional mix engineers specializing in different musical styles and mixing approaches designed to suit any artistic vision. In addition to mixing we offer songwriting, tracking, full production and artist development etc... Our new Raleigh facility also has a furnished 1 bedroom apartment for artists and bands to crash in if traveling to our studio to work.
