Rear Naked Choke was formed in 2009 in Abilene Texas. Though it all started when a few friends got together to just jam and have a little fun it soon became obvious that there was something special going on. It didn't take long for the ideas to start flowing and songs began taking form. After a few member shuffles the band solidified and things really started to move forward.
Through their own brand of Heavy Rock n Roll and high energy live performances they began gaining notice in the local music scene. That attention has gotten them the opportunities to play with National and Regional bands such as Saliva, Texas Hippy Coalition, Messer and more. They have release 2 singles, Better Man & Suicide Betsy, to iTunes and other online retailers and have been getting radio airplay locally and internationally. Currently they are in the process of recording their first full album.
While RNC have created their own style and sound and don't attempt to emulate or fit into a mold, fans of music in the vein of Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Down, Avenged Sevenfold etc... will more than likely enjoy the music of Rear Naked Choke.

At 4 years old he could often be found with his stereo blaring, smashing out a beat on boxes, books, or anything else he could find. Throughout his school years Shane played many instruments including trumpet, baritone, tuba, and viola. Shortly after moving to Abilene he met his cousin Mick who introduced him the local music scene. Now Shane keeps the solid beats that provide the foundation that the RNC house is built on.
