Elizabeth Bryan / Bio
Singer/songwriter, Recording & Performing Artist and producer. I have been in music from childhood, school choir and also church. I was spotted by Bunny (Striker) Lee way back in the early 70's but at that time I wanted two of my siblings to join making a group, but they did not want to travel the same path..I decided not to persue my dream until a twist of fate when again I was spotted in the later part of the 70's by a producer named Dennis Cross an all rounder musician, singer and producer, who decided to put a band together. Unfortunately the band never lasted. Another band was formed where we had quite a few gigs the biggest being at Finsbury Park, London. By this time it was the early 80's. I decided to branch out and started writing my own songs becoming a solo artist. I was introduced to a promoter named Tony Lee who put on talent shows one being at the Night Moves Club in Shoreditch, London where I sang an adapted song called 'Last days' I left the crowd stamping for more..What a great night as I won the talent show.
I started performing at venues on a more professional level where I was introduced to another promoter Rapheal of 'Fine Cut Promotions' this lead to more gigs on the club scene, performing at Crystals Banqueting Suit, Limelight Club, Walthamstow Town Hall, just to name a few. At the time I had young children so had to take a break from music business. Never having any intentions of giving up, I returned again in the early 90's Joining another group which was then called Orion Band. We took the Swiss tavern by storm every friday nite. After a few month I made a concious decision to branch out and focus on writing more songs.
I met a producer known as Dave Simons aka Jah Dave who introduced me to Lewis Murtugh a producer of Room in The Sky Studios, I recorded an adapted tune called 'BLUE MOON' released in 1995 and another called 'Good Night my Love' also adapted & released in 1997 both on the Ishance record Label, I became a recording artist working more in the studio. At this pont inmy life I took another break concentrating on working and my children...I returned back to the studio after a chance meeting with Lewis asking me back to the studio to work on my 1st album. I agreed and decided to write more songs. Lewis decided to put a various artist album together and asked whether I would mind one of my songs being released on the same, 'Hurting Me Bad' this was great news for me as when I recorded the tune Gregory was in the studio at the same time and told me he loved the song which made me feel not to ever give up. MASTER's of REGGAE Vol.1 was released in 2004-5 on Room In The Sky Label with artist such as Gregory Isacc's, AJ Franklin for the Group (The Chosen Few) , Winston (Mr Fix it) Francis, Joseph Cotton just to name a few. At that point i had the inspiration to keep writing and recording. I met an old friend Norman (budgie) Campbell who agreed to becoming my promoter. Things started to move in a bigger direction as I decided to work on my 1st Album, the album was released in 2007 on the Entertainment Record Label by Jet Sar.this came out on a double album 'Sista Levi meets Leroy Smart' . During that time I performed three summer shows at Acton Park for the Council whilst under promotion, twice at the BBC open air show London, also for the mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham.
I was nominated for my 1st R.H.A Reggae Heritage awards in 2008 at the Stratford Rex East London by music vision as Ambassador of reggae music, what an honour..Looking forward to the 2nd! I have since released a 10" vinyl with two of my tracks 'Rise Up' & 'Sad Sad Time' in 2010 and also my 2nd Album called ANALYE both on the Neterteri Productions Record label released 2011. I had since written a few songs for my 3rd Album two released on the MATURE MELODIES Vol.6 with various artist on World Sound Record Label tracks by Elizabeth Bryan 'THINKING OF YOU' and 'THIS LOVE' producer BILL Campbell released 2010 and another two tracks called 'WAISTING TIME' & 'OH WHAT A FEELING' released on the same label in 2011.
