Born, Zachary Wysinger, in the Hunter's Point community of San Francisco, California, adversity was just one of the many obstacles CALI XL faced coming up. He is the youngest of three. Growing up in the Westside Project housing complex only prepared CALI XL for what was to come. He lost his father Clarence Wysinger sr. in 1996. With his father out of the picture, and his mother addicted to cocaine, his future was looking dim. He began writing raps in class. The family relocated to Minneapolis, Mn in 1998. That's when his oldest brother Lamont offered him a verse on a song and the rest was history! Lamont introduced CALI XL to a program called fruityloops. Soon enough, he was making beats. Through many battles, spiritually and lyrically, CALI XL continues to excel. He has an album (READY OR NOT) and a mixtape (AUTHENTIC) coming this summer. So be on the look out for this extremely talented unsigned emcee!
