"...Believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:21-24"
Praise Revolution was founded by Darrell Edmonds in 2010, but he began his work in music ministry much earlier. At the tender age of 6, Darrell's parents recognized his gift to play the piano. Even at that young age he had already begun to compose songs and play by ear, so his parents enrolled him in classical piano training. When he turned 11 years old he became the musician for the youth choir at Union Baptist Temple in Atlantic City, NJ. He fulfilled that role until he left for college at University of Delaware on a full athletic scholarship to play football.
During his time at University of Delaware, Darrell remained active in music ministry. Shortly after arriving on campus he joined the gospel choir more commonly referred to as University of Delaware Gospel Choir (UDGC). Not only was he the lead musician for the choir, but he also served as vice president, president, and advisor. While in his senior year he was named Minister of Music at The Church of Redeemer Baptist in South Philadelphia. Darrell served in South Philadelphia for 3 years until moving back to Southern New Jersey to be near his family.
After returning to South Jersey, Darrell took a break from playing in the church to perfect his craft. While working on his musicianship he had the opportunity to arrange choir vocals for Mariah Carey during her tour stop in Atlantic City, NJ. He also worked as a musician for a local artist which gave him the opportunity to open shows for mainstream artists like Trey Songz, Avant, Carl Thomas, Genuine, and Lil' Wayne. However, it wasn't long before he returned to music ministry at his home church as the assistant Minister of Music. More recently he was blessed to lead worship at the newly formed Center of Deliverance and Empowerment in Absecon, New Jersey (CODAE). At CODAE, Darrell responded to the Lord's urging to finally move forward into the ministry that has grown into Praise Revolution.
