WILD SIDE FAMILY
There’s a road, and it’s a long one: a road caked with dust, anger and alcohol. A road built with passion, sweat, and an extraordinary sense of purpose. Bands of the calibre of the Rolling Stones have gone down this road, and it’s the same road that the Wild Side Family have set out to travel, and make their own.
A return to music that is “played” without frills and without so much as a nod at current trends – far too plastic for the approach that the Wild Side Family have in mind for a project consisting of self-penned tunes bursting with emotion, gut feeling and intuition, merged with the experience and professionalism of the musicians. Hard-hitting riffs, intimate ballads and bluesy stylings, and notes that are at the root of the path chosen by the band. The stinging vocal delivery; classic open G tunings; clever interplay of the melodies weaved by the two guitars; strong, pumping bass; powerful and urgent drumming; arrangements enhanced by instruments such as sax, piano, Hammond organ and percussion. These are the aspects of the Wild Side Family’s sound that strike you right from the start.
A project that, despite having one foot in the past (in the timeless genre that is rock & roll), nevertheless manages to sound exciting, fresh and contemporary. At the end of the day, it’s only rock and roll…but we like it!
The musicians in the Family can point to over a decade of experience in two of the most important cover bands in Italy, AT and Mister No, with more than 2,000 gigs at the most prestigious clubs in the country. They can also boast collaborations with artists of a certain pedigree (Tricarico, Paola & Chiara, Paco De Lucia, Prozac +, Dolcenera and many more), together with numerous underground performers (Serranò Concetto, Tiempo Mancante, Niccolò Agliardi).
The year 2010 constitutes the turning point, and the band decide to invest all their talent and passion in the WILD SIDE FAMILY project. In spring 2011, they record their debut album “BITE IT OFF”, 11 songs that illustrate to perfection the various musical and emotional shades that inspire the group, alternating hard-hitting punches with gentle caresses. An album that encompasses the various styles that have characterised rock & roll over the years, while still maintaining a precise, clearly-defined sound.
The Wild Side Family are currently working on new material in the studio.
