Jamie Searle / Bio

Winner of Pitch Music Awards 2006 - Best Pop Band (It's Over!)
Winner of Pitch Music Awards 2007 - Best Live Act (It's Over!)
Runner-Up Kansas City Magazine 2007- Best Show of 2007
Emerging Artist Star Magazine 2008

Of these three awards I was both lead singer/rhythm guitar/lead creative force.

Toured regionally for 3 years between 2005-2008.
Played SXSW 3 times.

During this time I began my theory/ear training/classical guitar training/piano training.

Accepted into UMKC Conservatory of Music in 2008 as a Composition Major.

Also began to teach guitar professionally.

My previous pop music can be heard regionally on both public and private (mainstream) radio stations.

Currently playing as a church musician with Mark Cohick and Ken Walker at St. Michael's All Souls Episcopal Church, as well as FAITH CITY Gospel Church headed by Apostle Cortez Vaughn, First Lady Constance Vaughn, Kyle Johnson & Drew Pickens with FC Choir. Still teaching full time. While in school, I studied under James Mobberley, Zhou Long (2011 Pulitzer Winner), and Chen Yi for composition and also Douglas Niedt for guitar.

My focus is bridging classical technique and instruments with popular music. Film is high on my list of interests because it acts as this bridge. I'm also working on my 3rd full-length album due to be recorded in Spring 2012.

Bandleader of newly formed MY BROTHERS & SISTERS (18 piece band) trumpet, tenor sax, trombone, drum kit, aux percussion, string quartet, bass, 4 female back up vocals, I sing and play guitar. This band is a mixture of pop/r&B/samba/jazz/Hip-Hop/Rock.

Quincy Jones is the man and his book on producing is great. Currently reading To Be Loved by Berry Gordy. Score studying Swan Lake - Tchaikovsky and Brahms 3-3.
