Winston Slade / Bio

Winston Slade, born November 13, 1977 in Fayetteville, NC, began his singing career at a young age. By the age of 14, Slade had made a name for himself after being named Male Vocalist of the Year by the Florida Country Music Association. The following year he not only successfully defended his title as Male Vocalist of the Year, but he was also named Entertainer of the Year, and won Duo Vocalist alongside his older brother, Chuck Walker. Slade’s success continued with him opening shows for many major acts and touring the Southeast building a strong fan base. In 1995 Slade was signed to a production deal with Bill Lowery and the Lowery Music group out of Atlanta GA. Slade began recording under Southern Tracks Records also owned by Lowery in 1996 and released his first album, Focus, in 1997. Slade’s first single, English Language, topped the charts at #1 for 9 weeks in Texas, and began to spread across the continental US. The major labels began to take notice and Winston Slade was signed to a deal with Curb Nashville, in the spring of 1998. Slade recorded many songs while on Curb, but none where released. Slade continued to play shows and started writing his own material with the help of many known writers in Nashville. Slade has returned to the music industry not only as a singer, but also as a songwriter. With the support of writers, players, and friends, Winston Slade has become very seasoned in all aspects of being a recording artist. Slade possesses some powerful songs, a powerful voice, and a stage presence that will definitely catch the attention of country music enthusiasts.
