HERO SHOT is a rock band from Salinas, California. Formed in late 2007, the group was founded by Earl Salindo and Jonathan Esteban after the break up of their last band which went through a few band names. Before the formation of HERO SHOT and after the break up of the last band, Earl and Jon were just jamming out together with other people to fill in on other instruments but soon decided to take up the task of building up a new band together. They asked their friend Eric LaCuesta, whom has played with them on countless occasions and also has been in bands with them, if he was up to the task of being their drummer. Around the same time, the group was also looking for a bassist. Both Earl and Eric knew of a friend who was willing and joyfully able to fill in on the bass. They asked Matthew Seals if he was able to become their bassist and he graciously took up the spot. Now forming a four-piece band, the group was able to put ideas together and come up with songs. The band wrote enough songs to release an EP. And with the help with their good friend Marcus Wade, who also joined the group to do keys and back-up vocals, the band was able to put out "Ever So Familiar". The bands first studio album.
The line-up from then went on to do shows and perform. But due to certain dramas within the group, that line-up broke up and it seemed as though HERO SHOT was done. Eric decided to focus more on his personal life. Matt joined a band, The Mountains Divide Us, until their break up and now focuses more on his solo music. Marcus joined a band as well, Eleonora, and then left for personal reasons and now records and produces bands in the area. Earl and Jonathan went on to start a new band but decided that it was not the right way to go. For a while, Earl and Jonathan just jammed out together as they normally do with other people and decided that their time in HERO SHOT was the point where everything seemed "right". Eric LaCuesta came back to the duo and they decided to try and start up HERO SHOT again with a different line up. Marcus Wade came back as well but as a drummer this time. The group once again started up playing the songs they wrote before and knew that it felt good. But once again, things changed and Marcus was not able to play drums for the group and Eric had to leave for personal reasons.
Earl asked his good friend Ian Tsuchiura if he would be able to try and play drums for the band since Earl only knew that Ian was a gifted guitarist. But having a jam session showed that Ian had amazing potential at drums and Earl and Jonathan were glad that Ian became their drummer. The group was still missing a bassist. Jonathan and Earl asked Jonathan's cousin, Mark Esteban, if he would be willing to try to play bass. Mark did play the guitar and the bass would just be an easy transition. Now HERO SHOT's line up today is Earl Salindo (Vocals/Guitar), Jonathan Esteban (Guitar), Mark Esteban (Bass), and Ian Tsuchiura (Drums). The group is writing a follow up album to the first HERO SHOT album, "Ever So Familiar".
The chemistry is right and the band loves the music that they're playing and hopes that people will love their music as much as they love and appreciate it.
