William “Scott” Browning began his professional career in music in the small town of Bellingham, WA where, in 1993, he founded the original rock band “The Blind Willies.” The Willies started as a staple on the local Bellingham music scene but grew in prominence with the release of their CD “Black Coffee and Rust.” With an assist from local airplay in Bellingham and Seattle for the single “Christina” the band developed a solid regional following through the I-5 corridor. In 1997 the Willies disbanded. Scott, however, continued to perform.
Scott eventually arrived in Portland, OR after passing through Boise, ID and Battle Ground, WA. Along the way Scott has redirected his electric rock and roll passion into a unique finger style of acoustic guitar and he has refined his songwriting to suit an individual style of singing and arrangement. The blend is rock with blues, folk, Americana, and jazz…with a touch of the indefinable thrown in for good measure.
When not performing with a guitar Scott can be found teaching martial arts out of his Vancouver studio (www.vancouvertkd.com is home of a ten-year veteran among local community businesses), traveling the globe for martial art sporting events, hitting the town in support of various outstanding local music acts, or hobnobbing with the many talented artists he has had the blessing to cross paths with in his day. Life is good!
