Imagine an Iraq War soldier who fights PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) through the magic of music. This is the story of Brian Allen, who works from his home in Yukon as a vocalist & guitarist, armed with a Mac Pro and Logic Pro 9 software, where he turns words and chords into incredibly penetrating lyrics and melodies. Before setting up his current digs in Oklahoma, Allen worked in Nashville, playing open-mic nights at local venues & coffee shops, both solo and with a band.
Since 2012, he has served as Coordinator & Communications Manager with the Oklahoma National Guard Employment Coordination Program, charged with assisting in ground-floor development of it Employment coordination program.
Allen recently retired as a Sergeant First Class with the Chief Public Affairs NCO for the Oklahoma Army National Guard, where he has worked since 2005. There, he developed, coordinated, supervised and participated in plans & policies pertaining to organizations, training and operations. While deployed to Iraq in 2009, he also produced news packages aired on the Pentagon Channel, Armed Forces Network, and provided footage to ESPN, Fox News, CNN, and local media outlets.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts & Mass Communication from Oklahoma City University
