Community Groove is a Baltimore-based band that plays a mixture of originals and hip groove-oriented covers. Formerly Funk Daddy G, the band has been performing at festivals and clubs for several years, and features a lineup of in-demand musicians.

Keyboards & Vox: Gary Gilpin
Gary has been a fixture on the scene, as well as writing music for TV and movies. In 2007 Gary released the inaugural “Funk Daddy-G”.

Guitar & Vocals: Rob Thorworth
Rob is a blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter from Alabama who released several records and toured opening shows for blues and rock greats. Since relocating to Baltimore in 2000, Rob has focused on songwriting, and released a third record showcasing his vocal, guitar and writing abilities.

Bass: Jay Dulaney
Jay is an electric bassist, composer, lyricist and Berklee School of music alum who has toured both coasts with smooth jazz artist Gregg Karukas, Europe with drummer Alphonse Mouson, and Brazil with Tim Eyermann and the East Coast Offering. Jay also had a stint on the Gary Shandling Show in Los Angeles, and in Baltimore has played with Carl Filipiak and Dennis Chambers.

Saxophone & Keyboards: Dave Fairall
Dave spent years touring internationally with The Reddings, (Otis’ sons), and stays busy with numerous bands in Balt / Washington area. He studied music at St. Mary's College of Maryland, U of Md Baltimore County, and privately with the late great tenor player Bob Berg. Dave has been featured on many recordings, with artists as diverse as drummer Dennis Chambers, worldbeat guitarist Vincent Nguini, rock legends "Crack The Sky", fusion guitarist Carl Filipiak, and many others.

Drums: Rod Dunton
The newest member of Community Groove, Rod joined in 2012 after a stint with Baltimore’s Kelly Bell Band, and previously spent years on the road with various bands, including “Savannah” from Norfolk VA., and San Francisco-based “Sakrid”. Rod has also done soundtrack work with Bruce Hornsby, and has extensive recording credits. He brings an infectious energy to the groove and is a crowd-pleasing addition to the lineup.
