Painted Pony has been Rocking the San Antonio and surrounding areas for the past 27 years. The band came together in 1983 and was started after the members played a local party in Cibolo Texas. The party featured three bands from the Cibolo and Schertz and Universal City area and they were Simon ( Kevin & Ty ) , Harlands Army (Bobby ) and Pilot (TJ ). We were all playing in different bands at the time and within a week or so after the party Bobby contacted Kevin and Ty about getting together to jam. At the time Kevin and myself had only been playing together for a short time and we had limited equipment and no PA, and when Bobby called about jamming we knew he had a PA and at that time Bob was the most seasoned musician of us all and we jumped at the chance. After weeks of practicing in a 8x10 shed that Bob had with a window AC unit the band Painted Pony was formed. The band moved from the shed to a mobil home about 200 yards away and that is where we began to practice three or four times a week and we continued like that for about two years. We did play a few parties here and there but we wanted to be as tight as possible before we hit the club scene and we were writing lots of originals. The bands frist milestone came with a San Antonio radio station created a one hour show called the Homegrown Hour. The Debute of the show happened in 1984 and Painted Pony kicked off the show with their original tune Breakin The Ice, we were thrilled not only to be the opening song of this new show but it was our first time being played on the radio. See a few other awards we recieved.
