Growing up in east Tennessee, Travis was surrounded with musical influence. Deep bluegrass roots to the north and east in the Appalachian mountains, steady southern rock coming out of Georgia, and rich Nashville country to the west. Always attracted to the music coming from the radio, Travis dreamed of playing and singing like his idols, Garth Brooks and Travis Tritt. In high school he began to do just that, by learning to play guitar and picking up local acoustic gigs around Crossville, TN. It wasn’t until his college years, however, that he discovered his own brand of original music. He spent the next few years writing and polishing his songs into industry standard tunes. After college, He started playing all over the south east, sharing the stage with the likes of Craig Morgan, Bucky Covington, and Rhett Atkins. These full band shows allowed fans to see the more energetic side of Travis Rice Music. But don’t be surprised if you see him pull up a stool in the middle of a show and let out some heartwarming real deal country ballads. “I love doing the unexpected. It’s always the most entertaining thing you can do”, says Rice, as he continues to bring new unexpected features to his live show while promoting his upcoming debut album “Little Thing Called Life”.
