Formed under the passing of comet Hale-Bopp in 1997, Late to Bloom have been writing, performing and recording their own unique blend of music for over a decade. Brothers Jeff and Jamey Bailey started their first band in 1985. A few years later, their paths would cross with fellow musician and future vocal virtuoso, Shane Lasseter. An eclectic mix of influences began to shape the styles of the songwriters that would define Late to Bloom. Ranging from the singer/songwriters of the 60's & 70's, into the pop and metal era of the 80's. With a shared passion for music, the boys formed the core of a band and song-writing team that would still be writing and performing two decades later.
Late to Bloom spent most of the late 90’s and early 2000’s promoting their music through live shows throughout the regional area- from small barrooms to large outdoor venues. After the passing of long time bass player and high school chum Chris Clayton, the band set out on a search for the right fit, the right sound and the right direction. Between 2003 & 2006 the band settled in with the current line up you see today. Since then the band has been steadfast in creating their own music, shaping and polishing their sound and settling for nothing less than perfection. Their current sound holds a perfect blend of rock, country and blues... you might say Americana. Late To Bloom performances take you on a musical and mental journey through trials and tribulations, ups and downs, wins and losses of being who we are, human. Currently, Late To Bloom are in the process of recording their second full length, scheduled for release the summer of 2012.
