The Rodney Alan Combs band is one of the Midwest’s premiere country acts with its finger on the pulse of the Modern Country scene, one foot planted in the gritty roots of Outlaw and smooth Bakersfield styles, and Rock and Roll flowing through the veins. The Rodney Alan Combs band plays soon to be classics by The Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, and Jamey Johnston: by all-time greats like George Strait, Garth Brooks, Hank Williams Jr., Marty Stuart, Dwight Yoakam; by rockers by The Black Crowes, ZZ Top, Drive-by Truckers, The Allman Bros. Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd; and the true fathers of Rock and Country like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Elvis Presley. Combs’ voice is a unique instrument unto itself that rings with conviction whether singing in the classic high-lonesome style or the scorching Rockabilly and Southern sounds that flow out of anywhere good rockin’ Country music is made. Combs is a frontman to be reckoned with, but he’s also one you’ll want to share a beer with.
A veteran of the Cincinnati music scene for over a decade, Rodney has lit up the acoustic scene by himself or with younger brother Eric in Acoustic Roadshow. Drummer Joey Hollingsworth has been pounding out the rhythm since the late 80’s with bands Richter, Contagious and the more recent rockers Top Soil Monkeys. Danny “Greek” Sideris mined his talents in butt-rocking Top Soil Monkey. He has also been in Cincy’s local Rock scene with Last Call, Contagious and Good Grief. Bassist Tony Honerkamp has been laying down the most infectious of grooves since the early 80’s with Warhammer, Moth Eyed Soul and most recently The Diaz Brothers. Guitarist Seth Forster honed his chicken-pickin’ country-fried grease-ladled guitar mojo in the South’s “Live Music Capital” Austin, TX with red dirt music’s finest bands, including Aaron Navarro, Sam Silva, Trey Stapleton and several pop-rock and soul acts including Jennifer Ellen Cook, whom the Austin Chronicle labeled “one of Austin’s best-kept secrets."
RACB has been hard at work writing and arranging original music that will make the fists pump and the hairs on the back of yo' neck stand up. Loyal fans have already gotten a taste at the most recent shows with RACB's radio-ready and harmony guitar loaded "As I Am" and the sing-a-long "Top of the Bottle to the Bottom of the Glass." The live shows will feature more of these originals, and of course the set-list is always expanding to cover more ground on the Outlaw classics and Modern Country side of things.
There should be some pro photography going on during the next few gigs, so this is your shot to be seen with the band for all the paparrizi! TMZ doesn't care about you since you stopped dating Charlie Sheen so this is your next best opportunity.
Let us know if you'd like to get an official "Rodney Alan Combs Band" bumper sticker for a few bucks--or maybe Greek will tattoo our logo on your arm for free!!
