Sanctus Infernum was formed in October 2006 by Mark Anderson and Ricky Vannatta. Shortly afterward drummer Chris Johnson was added and the band recorded its self-titled debut album which was released by Solitude Productions/BadMoodMan Music in 2008. This was followed by the release of their second album "Martyr" in 2009 by Breaker Records. Along the way they had the honor of sharing the stage with such acts as Deicide, Belphegor, Hate, Chthonic, Manilla Road, Jungle Rot, Jucifer, Neuraxis, and Hammerlord among others.
After a brief hiatus the band entered Bullet Ride Productions with engineer Dustin Ridder to record their new album titled "Other Gods". This album features former Manilla Road drummer Scott Peters and Howard Jones of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra on viola. The album is scheduled to be released in May 2014 by Satanath Records.
