Anyone can be taught to play an instrument and sing, but not everyone becomes a great musician. Becoming a great musician is not learned in a small closed vacuum during short periods of time. It is experienced in a large open space over a persons complete life span. In short:"If your going to do it, you got to live it." With two member of this great band having individual carriers spanning over 45 years; time is on their side. As for the experiencing part, writing it down on this page can't tell it all or do it justice.
Lead man, Lanny Hatt has over 45 years in the business crafting his art in the honkey tonks and clubs of Texas and Nashville Tennessee. While many people performing classic rock and country material are just mimicing the sounds they have heard on recordings, Lanny is performing it just like he did in the 60's and 70's. Lanny is the real deal and a master of his craft.
Drummer, Rick Jackson, another child of the 60's and 70's, has also been in the business for over 45 years. Along with formal musical training to his credit, Rick has lived the long life of a working musician. He has performed all over the world in any type of musical setting you can dream up, from large stadiums and small clubs. His audience has been both aristocrats and common folk alike with both receiving from him the same power house effort of showmanship that only a true pro can offer.
Lead guitarist, Ray Bowling has over 25 years in the business, he can bend a string with the best of them. Ray is also a fine harmony singer and a great sound man. Ray brings to the group sound the edginess of the rock of the 80's and 90's.
Bass guitarist, Richard Wright (Big Rich), also with over 25 years experience, has one of the best right hands in the business.
One of the best shows in the business, check out Lanny's tour schedule on his website (www.hickbillys.com) and come out and see Lanny and the boys when you can.
