Ben Blankenship and Tony Garcia met in 2001 while playing the Nashville songwriter rounds.
We each have a long history of playing and writing country and rock-and-roll songs and our styles complement each other's music. In 2008, after several years of playing guitar in each other's bands, we decided to combine our material and form a new band. We recruited Kenny Owens and Jim Alderman to play bass and drums, and the Double Intenders were born.
With a repertoire approaching 80 original songs and even more covers, we hit the Tennessee circuit of clubs, bars, restaurants, festivals and parties. Now the Double Intenders are recording an album of original songs and hoping to release it in the Spring of 2011.
