Bailey and Joey have been friends since the age of one when they attended the Swanston Palms preschool together. Since then they have never gone to the same school but have remained friends. Joey started playing guitar at age nine. Bailey started later at age eleven. In 5th grade Hadyn came to Bailey's school, Camellia Waldorf. At the end of sixth grade, Hadyn and Bailey formed a band called WD-41. They only played White
Stripes songs and they weren't very good. In October of that year they formed a band with Sam called the Rockaholics. Bailey continued to play music with Joey.
The Rockaholics disbanded and The Hungry formed, with Sam on guitar, Joey on drums and Bailey on bass and vocals. The Hungry played at Bailey's Fourth of July party. During Eighth Grade, Hadyn and Sam became friends again and started a new "Hungry". In May, Eli joined on bass. They played at Hadyn's concert in the park on May 2nd. Then on June 13th they played at Butch N Nellies Coffehouse. At the end of June, Hadyn, Sam and Eli quit to form their own band, The Trees, so Bailey officially made Joey the lead guitarist for The Hungry and Hadyn said he would play drums. The newest Hungry again played at Bailey's fourth of july party, Chalk It Up, and second saturday. Bailey met Drew at school and asked him if he wanted to play in The Hungry and now they have a solid lineup. A few months later, Hadyn rejoined the band on bass, and Bailey switched to keyboards and rhythm guitar as well as vocals.
