Everything happens for a reason. Angello, Jarrett and Julian formed Liquid Spiral in the late autumn of 2009. Nature uses circles to move through time, and spirals are the living aspect of that process. Taking the shape of their containers, Liquids use their environment as natural inspiration; imitation is the highest form of flattery. Liquid Spiral is how we use our different cultures and inspirations to bring out the hidden melodies in ourselves and our backgrounds. Angello is of Incan descent, and is from Lima, Peru. His guitar sings to the Gods. Julian is a Chicano from El Paso, Texas, and is a professional Mariachi. Jarrett (also known as Dr. Love) is an autodidact pianist from Connecticut, and is the spiritual leader of the band. Jose is from San Juan, Puerto Rico, plays a left-handed fretless and a five-string bass. Gordon is from Houston, Texas, and plays aggressive, passion-based drums. It all fits.
In the early spring of 2010, Jose Figueroa joined Liquid Spiral. His unique southpaw style, combined with his prodigious by-ear improvisations helped define the band in a finer, fuller way.
