In 2008 The Outervention was forged in the depths of the earth by Jeff Kozelski (King Hippo) and Ian Grimshaw (Blue Sphere). Having slowed down after a long time with their other bands they we’re out looking to start something new. After a few laid back sessions as an acoustic duo, Jeff and Ian picked up Alan Brisendine to join in on the drums and shortly after Bobby Hogg started on the Bass. After a couple changes to the lineup, Tom Eden (King Hippo), joined the group on Bass and the band recorded Mess Machine in the Fall and Winter of 2012 at Encore Studios in Charleston. During the recordings they had layered so much keyboards that they thought it was time to get somebody to fill the spot and in February of 2013 Philip Noland joined the group. In the Summer of 2013 Tom Eden left the group and moved to Connecticut. In need of a new bass player, Frank Nelson, a long time musician friend of the band joined in. The band has been creating, gigging and recording nonstop since the beginning of 2014 and will have a new album before the beginning of 2015. The Outervention is out there to tweak what is old to form something new. To find out more about the band please check out www.theoutervention.com
