Influenced by the pioneers of today's hard rock, Metallica, Pantera, Godsmack and White Zombie, in 2009 brother's Bim and Rich Bowman were able to create a sound all their own and called it EFen. The musics hard-hitting riffs make it easy to dance to and fun as hell to sing along. With their unique style of delivery...it's almost like playing in the mud!.
What started out as a band having fun in a practice room became serious in 2010 when they were asked to open for the Spirit of the Suwannee "Rock-N-Wheels" event. The bigger stage was quite intimidating for the small band from O'Brien, Florida but it ignited the passion and gave them the will to succeed.
During a release party in the beginning of 2011 fans found themselves standing in line to get an autographed demo of the band EFen. The demo contained the songs Giddy Up, Neverago, Enforcer and Face Like That. After a night of signing the band felt established in their local music scene and ventured out into other markets. They competed to place in the top ten, out of the thirty-five southeast regionalbands, to perform at "Welcome to Rockville 2011". They won an opening spot on the “Locals Stage” to open for several bands including Godsmack, Seether, Puddle of Mudd, and Hailstorm. After the show the band took immediate action recording two more songs DIGG and Waste of Time. Their demo was now an EP and quickly found their way onto the local radio stations 100.5 THE BUZZ - "Locals Only " and ROCK 104 - "Internet Radio" where they are frequently played.
In the spring of 2012 they went back to compete against sixty other bands to secure another opening spot for "Welcome to Rockville 2012" opening for Korn, Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch and Evanescence. During the next year other opportunities were taken by the band doing opening acts for such great artists as, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, newly signed band Big Engine, Black Molly, Tracii Guns - League of Gentleman and Adrenaline Mob. They also released their album “ALL ABOARD” on a northern tour of Ohio in October of 2013 where critics from “What's Up Ohio” stated “It's like “Soft-core Metal, to heavy for rock and to light for metal. You can understand what they're singing...it's great, like a breath of fresh air.”
“An EFen show is a mutual experience between the band and fans. It's a party and both the band members and fans are rocking hard! Not all bands forge such a fan following, local or national. The bands who've lasted for generations, created a bond with their fans that is lifelong. EFen has cultivated that loyal following.” - Cathy Di Lena
Currently the band consists of, some of North Florida's most talented performers and musicians, singer/songwriter/guitarist Rich Bowman, drummer extraordinaire Bim Bowman, heavy metal bassist Steve Gel and former national recording artist/lead guitarist David Owen.
“The main focus of the band is to create rock music filled with hard-hitting riffs, energy and attitude that can be absorbed into the listeners soul." ~ EFen
