Stegosaurus / Bio

In late 2009, rival bands Stairfall and The A.M. were beginning to reach an understanding. Stairfall, consisting of Logan Hunter and Cody Creager, was unable to find a bassist. Meanwhile The A.M. consisting of Austin White and Conner Pendergast was in the market for a new drummer. During Fremont High's Battle of the Bands, Hunter recruited Pendergast to play a Beatles cover with them while Pendergast was also covering Jimmy Eat World with The A.M. Unable to successfully hold a lineup as separate bands the two groups merged in early 2010, as an experiment. Going through a long list of ill-fitting band names, and with their first gig a week away, Hunter was on conference call with the rest of the band, flipping through a picture book on dinosaurs naming random dinos, half paying attention, Creager said "I don't care what we call the band as long as it's called Stegosaurus" and a legend was born. Disappointed by a lackluster crowd at the local 4th of July Celebration, the band went on hiatus briefly. Afterwords, the group wrote an acoustic song titled "River song", after posting this and another demo on Facebook, the band was contacted by Bennet Geilmann, and was asked to play a show at the local venue, The Warehouse. Not wanting to disappoint again, the group went hard at work to write an all-original setlist. The show was successful locally, and they began to build a following.
