D. Michael Loveridge / Bio

Born in Pittsfield, MA the same year as Rock and Rolls' (alleged) birth, Mike always had music playing in his head, in fact a few of his stuffed animals had a band that played his first original tunes (or did they). He took up the trumpet in elementary school, but did not find his true musical calling until he moved to Marshfield, MA in 1967 and discovered that old rascal Rock and Roll in the fabled "Summer of Love". He soon took up the guitar and started a band with some neighborhood friends, Mothers' Memory eventually played a Junior High School dance with Mike playing the bass lines on his six string electric. The band broke up as bands do, and Mike realising his limitations retreated to his bedroom and started writing songs (nobody would know if he made mistakes if he wrote the songs himself). After high school he went on to WPI in an effort to be a recording engineer as his guidance counselor offered little guidance in how to get there. Passed the music courses; the electrical engineering and differential equations....not so much. Eventually ended up graduating from Emerson College with a Mass Communications degree and he was writing songs all along and perfecting his performing style. After graduating he decided to stay in the Boston area and pursue the music. Played open mikes at Crossroads in Boston and the famous Inn Square Men's Bar (ladies invited) in the early '80's and went through a succession of various musical conglomeration's with little in the way of traditional success but had a great time doin' it. Bought a four track in '89 and started recording which resulted in the DIY cassette ...Of a Like (or similar) Mind and intermitant tunes throughout the '90's. After a somewhat fallow period in the early 2000's he's back at it, hittin' the open mikes and singin' his tunes and slowly recording tunes new and old with an eye towards future releases. Check him out if you get a chance...you will be entertained.
