The band was founded in winter of 2005 by its bass guitarist Egor Lomonos and guitarist/vocalist Oleg Kolotusha. After a while guitarist Dmitriy Marchenko and drummer Yaroslav Docenko joined the band. In such setting the group performed at big Ukrainian festivals and closed scenes. Yaroslav leaves the band in 2007 and his place is taken by Vladimir Shapkon, who is the present-day band player. A couple of months later the guitarist Dmitriy Marchenko leaves the band, however, manages to participate in recording of “PSY” album.
In such setting of 3 members the band performes at the ProRock-2008 festival, sharing the scene performance with Rage (Germany), Rasta (Belarus), DevillishImpressions (Poland) and a number of Ukrainian and CIS bands.
Autumn of the same year the band performs on the same scene with Deadlock from Germany.
The debut album “PSY” was released in 2009. In the same year the first musical video was created. Lilith from Zaporozhian band “GeneralWound” participated in the shooting of the first video. The first studio album was produced on Ukrainian label “BlackArt Production”.
In the meanwhile the band develops its style to generate harder sound and groovier vocals.
In autumn 2009 the guitarist Alexey Pasko joins the band. Since that the set of the band remains unchanged.
After the set of the band is completed, MORiA releases EP “CloudedMind” in English. The material attracts attention of audience, press and radio. Almost at the same time the new video clip for “DeadMemory” from the EP is created.
In spring 2010 “MORiA” plays at warm-up for the veterans of English thrash metal Onslaught in one of the Ukrainian clubs.
In autumn 2010 the band runs its first Ukrainian tour “War Against War Tour 2010” with Disquiet (Poland) and Wasted Heroes (Ukraine).
In December 2010 the band performs at the Death Damage Fest warming-up for Septic Flesh (Greece) and Hate (Poland).
In march 2011 MORiA signs an official agreement for cooperation with a South American agency Pain Factory (Promotion & Management).
In July 7, 2011 the second full album “Pain Shreds” is released at Russian label “More Hate Production”. After this release the tracks of the album appear on radio rotation in different parts of the world. Many positive reviews appear in press. The following guest-vocalists took part in the album recording: Evgeniy Ardentis (Stardown, Russia), Kate Moray (Moray Eel, Russia), Alexander Baev (Hell:On, Ukraine), Iowa (Ungrace, Ukraine).
In autumn 2011 the band runs its first European tour including Poland, Czech and Hungary.
Immediately on return the band issues its third video for the on the first song of the album “Pain Shreds” – “Battle Is Your Pain”.
The major “visiting card” of the band is the hard guitar sound, powerful rhythm section, special contrast of melodics and aggression. The factor of no less significance is the band’s lyrics, which underlines problems of humanity (wars, ecological environment) and individuality (state of mind, subconscious, philosophy, psychology).
