Ricardo Scales concert pianist, is a man with unduly but quite possibly genius skills and great stylistic vivacity, pianist Ricardo Scales, one could surmise, has been born to be recognized, bred to play as such The name Scales is synonymous with Music in more ways that one, his Mother is regal teacher Patience Scales and his cousin is Harvey Scales co-wrote First Platinum Record in RIAA history, though Ricardo needed no help from his cousin Harvey to get on the charts. Skilled in music composition he has crossed Billboard charts again and again beginning in the 90's. Ricardo Scales easily hit the charts on his own. As clean as his tuxedo, is his character. His achievements are endless. It wasn't long after he began playing piano at San Francisco's legendary Redwood Room that Ricardo attracted the attention of critics, musicians and concert-goers alike. Artists such as Billy Joel, Harry Connick, Jr., Liza Minelli, and Joe Cocker are among the many who visited Ricardo at the Redwood Room to join him on a number or two.
Ricardo has performed before five U.S. presidents and countless diplomats, heads of state and national & international dignitaries. He has shared concert billing with such notables as Debbie Reynolds, The Commodores, Nancy Wilson, Jerry Vale, Nelson Rangell, Jeff Linsky, SproGyra, The Temptations and Kenny Latimore. He is the preferred pianist of former San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown .
