The Great Malarkey / Bio

THE GREAT MALARKEY... the freshest of emerging UK talent

Born from the lanes of East London via the most Northern and Southern towns of Ireland. Having met in the darkened corners of the East End underground music and cabaret scenes - they took to the stage with their London shanties, telling tales of what they had seen.

Formed only a few short months now, yet creating a genuine buzz about town (...not the type of jaded hysteria PR firms lazily spin – no suspension of disbelief required). The Great Malarkey are fresh and exciting - as testified by the audience response at their live shows. Deafening applause and multiple encores has been standard fare at every sold-out show so far (including their third show: a sold-out Islington Academy opening for the legendary Toots & The Maytals). People know the real deal when they witness it.

Trumpet, violin, accordion and banjo augment bass, drums and guitar to create a mix of East European, Latin, Blues, Punk and Folk music to die for. Foot stomping, rabble rousing, sing-along anthems proliferate their joyous set of brutally honest songs of lust and life in the dirty city.

Get your boots on, dust off your hats, warm up those vocal chords and buckle your braces – ladies and gentlemen, this is ...THE GREAT MALARKEY.
