“Boughw! is Ariel Sven’s first release on Transonic Chicago. In 2010, Sven lived simply with his cousin Tippy (the innovator of the word 'boughw') on the border of Illinois and Wisconsin. The raw sounds were invented in the egg-carton lined bounds of a cube; and, finished when he removed to the Chicago-land area. The album opens with Beach, and the listener’s senses cruising on a straight ocean-side road with healthy boat traffic on the summer’s high-noon horizon. Straw Hat, the album’s art-sake, is a tribal waltz set to the present’s standards of natural movements and activity. In the warehouse of some of the heavier hearing Curve may be found; it keeps a hard center varying with light builds and insignificant shifts that quintessentially defines the life and environment of the whole product. The remainder of the tracks, no less in theme or poetic include: the classic boughwcing beats of Condition; the solid dribbling in Humidity; and the airy melody in the waves of Ocean. ”
