Tim (songwriter/prducer) of Arcade Masquerade started music at the age of 13 with guitar. He was taught how to play by his cousin for the first year and nine months of his musical career. During this time he learned mostly how to play blues rock and roll which laid most of the foundation for his musical knowledge. Near the second year of guitar playing, his teacher decided that he was good enough to be set off alone and learn form there.
After being set off on his own for a little while, Tim began toying around with different music genres such as punk rock, some metal, classical, jazz, and expiramental styles but stayed mostly with the blues rock guitar style.
Around his third and fourth year of studying music, his musical interest took a turn for more of the indie rock and electronica genres thanks to his brother (guitarist for the expiramental electro rock band called Televandals). In this time period he became quite fond of the acoustic guitar and the piano. In the summer of his third year he took a summer course for classical piano at the local college campus where his teacher taught him all she possibly could in a 2 month period. This short course had a huge impact on where music would take him.
Christmas of that year his parents bought him a midi keyboard which became his new obsession along with guitar. He began playing around with it using his computer and his recording software for the piano sounds and the synth sounds. He pretty much just stayed with the indie rock, electronica, and blues rock style for the months to come. Then one week when not being able to sleep he started playing with his keyboard and recording software for nights on end. He ended up coming up with an electro song that his friends liked a lot. Little did he know this random song would change his music taste almost entirely and turn it mostly towards indie rock and electronica. That same week he made a myspace for the song (and future songs) under the name of Wax Candle Dream. This page was later closed due to contact information issues but later re-opened as Arcade Masquerade.
