Bio
Andrés studied composition and musicology at the Music Studies and Research Centre in Mexico City. As a composer for visual media, he complemented his musical studies with training in filmmaking (NYFA – La Femis workshop, Paris), cinematography (EICTV, Cuba workshop) and still photography (LMI School, Mexico). This experience has led him to work as a composer in films, documentaries, adverts and stage performances.
About
His music has been performed and recorded in Mexico and Europe by renowned interpreters and ensembles. He has been commissioned music by Instrumenta Music Festival, the Foundation for the Protection of Children, The Mexico City Clarinet Quartet and Ensamble Signos among others.
He was awarded the first prize of the Musici Mojanesi – Call for scores 2007, that same year The Council of Music in Mexico (CIM/UNESCO) recommended his music to be part of the VII Mexican Music Tribune (TRIMME). In 2008 The Royal College of Music awarded him the title of Regalian Scholar.
He currently studies a Masters degree in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music.
