Andre “North Star” Lipsey is a hip hop production artist from the Twin Cities (Bloomington) of Minnesota. Growing up he was always interested in the process of creating music. His early productions were made on MTV's Music Generator. His hunger for more creative freedom was fed when he got a trial version of a music creation computer program included with a cd burner for his birthday. Most of his early productions were inspired by Dr. Dre and though they weren't the best, they were they building blocks for his talent that was soon to emerge. While making beats, he naturally started writing songs to accompany them. To get those songs recorded, he also became his own engineer.

The Andre Lipsey sound (production) is a unique blend of hip hop style drum tracks and vast melodic soundscapes that vary across many genres. These range from soulful samples tracks to alternative piano ballads. However, since he thinks in an orchestral mind state, any sound is possible. His past albums have been "Hometown Celebrity" (2005), and "This is R.E.A.L." (2006). He also has scored various videos.

In the future Andre Lipsey will be releasing various genres of artists under his imprint R.E.A.L. (Respect Entertainment of Andre Lipsey) Entertainment. Whatever he does, is ultimate goal is to inspire. To inspire people to be creative, to be unique, but most of all, to stay R.E.A.L.
