Through his diverse studies with masters of the Italian, Persian, Turkish and Indian frame drum art, he masters the ability to perceptively move around in virtually each musical context and musical stylistic with a supremely artistic technique on his first instrument - the tamburello.

As founder of "FRAME DRUMS EUROPE" and leader of the EUROPEAN FRAME DRUMMERS MEETING he belongs in the meantime to the most important figures of the European frame drum scene. Andrea Piccioni is author of the Italian magazine BATTERIA & PERCUSSIONI and published his new book " Il tamburello italiano " in 2006 and his didactical DVD in 2009, the first dedicated to this instrument.

During his career he had the chance to perform with great artists from the international panorama like Paul McCandless, Ganesh Kumar, Glen Velez, Nidi D’arac, Les Haulz et les Bas, Freiburger Spielleyt, Orlando di Lasso Ensemble, Indaco, Lucilla Galeazzi, Antonio Calogero, etc.
