Amplication is a project originally formed by singer Emily Smith, guitarists Christian deBrigard and Nick Hinton, and drummer Zack Downes.

The band was forged in early 2007 in the upstate hippie-commune-meets-epic-college-town of Ithaca, NY. For a half-year they honed their sound, performing in dive bars and small clubs around town. What resulted was a palatable blend of pop, rock and soul, drawing influences spanning from jazz and blues to progressive rock and heavy metal.
