Q: Great songs, great voice..Is that you singing? jan
A: Yes Jan that is my voice in every recording.
Allow me to share the stories behind my songs.
“Jane Hancock” I wrote a song title Prenuptial Agreement after going to a wedding at a Catholic Church, some considered it to be a good song, I had issues of its structure, so I wrote Jane Hancock after my late friend Mindy McCready said; “The lyrics themselves would make a hit song in Country Music”, God rest her soul. Co-writer credits go to Mr. Bob Seger.
“Loose Change Wishes” I meet a woman during one of my six marriages and we were lying on the top of her garage in Yuma Arizona one evening, on a deck looking at the stars and one shoot by. I was in love at the time too, with her and that’s the truth.
“One Nation under God”
I was watching the news on morning here the Tampa Bay area, when the news story was how a small group of people wanted the word “One Nation under God” removed from something. Original through Mindy McCready son Zander’s father Billy McKnight and I produce it with Henry Paul Productions in Nashville.
I released it as Soul Circus Cowboys first single and it reached 86 in the Top 100 Country Media base Charts in October of 2010.
It was originally 4:17 in time. My dear friend Nokie Edwards of “The Ventures” said it was a great patriotic song but, it was too long. So I re-recorded several times here in Florida and this is the arrangement I feel is the final version. I added “The Pledge of Allegiance” for a more patriot song. I also have the version to allow any Radio Station Staff to record their own members Pledge to release locally. This way almost any radio station that played it would have their own add personal touch.
Thanks for asking.
