Al Raja’ musical group brief profile:
"Al-Raja'" means "Hope" in Arabic. We as Christians have hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Al-Raja's motto: "Love. Peace. Offering" binds the group and gives it strength, courage and great zeal to plough the road and reach out and touch mankind.
Al-Raja' group was formed in order to support the church, and promulgate Christian inspirational spiritual songs to extol the spirit of openness towards others in every way. The group's main objective and goal is to share love, faith and hope to spread God's Word in our community, the region and among all Christians from the four corners of the globe, praying for the aspired unity Christ Himself prayed for.
Al-Raja' group is a musical group founded in Jerusalem in the year of Our Lord 2000, consisting of "Jerusalemite" youth, from different Christian and Church affiliation, united in music and song to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
Rehearsing twice per week and celebrating the 11th hour mass on Sundays at the St Savior Church in Jerusalem with the Parish Priest.
Al-Raja' group performed at several concerts since its inception, with (15) fifteen members actively involved in the community, helping the elderly that live alone, sharing the joy of music at Senior Citizen Centers, High School graduations, and other religious occasions. In addition to the group's musical gift, the group produced, directed and performed the Easter Sunday play "The Lamb", in the years 2002- 2004, and hopeful to have more stage plays in the future.
Facing the unfortunate events that happened in Palestine since the year of Our Lord 2000, many obstacles and difficulties posed a serious threat to the existence and continued presence of Al-Raja'. But by the grace of God the group was blessed and managed to revive youth activities in Jerusalem and all reachable areas in spite of the all-around military posts and check points.
The group believes in God and in His Power that can change the course of history and the course of man. But God wants us to take the first step in changing ourselves to the better, so He could grant us HIS PEACE.
Al-Raja' moves forward with faith in Him, and Hope in You.
We are a Unity, a Stronghold for God in this turbulent land, the land of Peace that longs and cries for Peace.
Let us together rise up and touch heaven with our Music and Song, and let us have God's heart Rejoice and be Glad.
