Described as a “talented and meaningful almost self produced artist”, ALONESTAR launched his musical career with “lockdown” in 2003 and has since matured into what he is today- a highly acclaimed lyricist and live performer.<!--StartFragment-->

Jethro Sheeran [ALONESTAR] was born and raised in Bristol but now spends a lot of time in Trinidad and lives in London. Taking his inspirations from the early Bristol scene and growing up with the likes of Smith & Mighty, Tricky, Massive Attack and Portishead, he built and nurtured his sound to become the artist he is today.

Touring the UK in 2002 and again in 2003 he built his reputation as a great all round talent. Mixing a unique set of hip-hop with hard drums, catchy hooks, and meaningful words, he formed the sound that represents the backdrop of his life today.

In 2005, ALONESTAR completed his first, somewhat experimental EP entitled “clipped wings” since then , alonestar has become an even darker, hard hitting artist and his new album “DARK DAYZ” reflects his battle with depression, his views on religion, social issues and the environment.

ALONESTAR said: “I wrote a lot of ‘Dark Dayz’ when I was deeply depressed. My demons were so overwhelming I felt I would often be better off in heaven. My music was and still is my therapy.

“Words from Skyla Rain are raw and honest they reflect the frustration and sorrow I felt at the time.“

My music also echo’s my passions and concerns faced in our world.

The album has been heavily influenced by the pulse and vibe of the island of Trinidad and uses an innovative fusion of hard hip hop beats, with live strings and bass, Native American flutes, piano, a brass section and a children’s choir among many collaborations with established artists, including Ashley Walters (Asher D), Ataklan, Coree Richards (Damage) Spotrushaz, Meet Source, Lanyap, Chromatics, Roy Merchant (Red Devil), and Precious, as well as world class musicians and engineers from all over the world.

International club and festival performances have earned him a reputation as a consummate showman, drawing enthusiastic crowd responses from London, Morocco, Spain and Denmark to Port of Spain in Trinidad, as well as radio and TV coverage.
