About...Allison Sharp

As a writer, I use my experiences in life to create songs that draw you in and make you feel like I understand you as well as your best friend. When I was a kid,  my Dad would blast the Beach Boys, Air Supply, Bee-Gee's, Kenny Rogers, and the like throughout the house, while I would be in my room trying to out blast him with Mary J. Blige, Cheryl 'Pepsii' Riley, Guy, Boys II Men and a host of other R&B/Hip-Hop artists. I tried not to like his music, but somehow it got into me over the years. Because of my love for various genres, I've written my songs to appeal to a wide audience of listeners.

I always knew I wanted to sing for a living, but a few years back, after a terrible break-up, I sort of fell into writing as an outlet for the pain. Once I finished my first song, “Cry Baby”, the ideas just kept coming and songwriting became my new passion. I know how it feels to be insecure, scared, angry and abandoned, just as I know the excitement and blessings that love can bring. We all experience a broad range of feelings on this emotional roller coaster called life and because of that, there is a song for every mood on my debut album "A#".
