Albino Frogs / Press

“Fri 11th July @ 7:30pm: Albino Frogs (Funk, Blues, Jazz, Soul) The ALBINO FROGS bring with them an incredible amount of musical experience all the way from the South Wales Valleys, and take a break from the process of recording their album to play at the festival. This four-piece band lay down funky Latin, rock grooves with instantly hummable melodies and memorable hooks, featuring three and four part vocal harmonies led by the powerful vocals of Ian Day, and powered by solid rhythmic grooves of bass, drums and guitar, while Ric Lawton blazes away with intricate virtuoso saxophone. What they play is quirky and catchy but original to the core. What they play is funk rock, infused with jazz, blues and soul and it's not to be missed. www.facebook.com/pages/Albino-Frogs/170771242986380”

“Albino Frogs to headline Cwmbran Big Event Gwent’s very own funk rock five piece, the Albino Frogs, have been confirmed as the headline act for the fourth annual Cwmbran Big Event on Saturday 14 June. Known to their fans simply as ‘The Frogs’, the band plays a mix of funky Latin rock grooves with a smattering of jazz thrown in for good measure, and have proved a hit at festivals including Brecon and Aberjazz to name a few. They will headline a wide variety of music and dance acts on the main stage at the event, which is held at Cwmbran Boating Lake in Llanyrafon. The event also includes sporting demonstrations, craft and food stalls, a climbing wall, miniature train rides, fun fair, dog show and the annual raft race which takes place on the boating lake. More than 10,000 people attended last year’s event, with most of the activities being free and fun for the whole family.”

“This five piece band deal out plenty of funky Latin rocky grooves. It doesn’t end there - there's also some jazz thrown into the mix for good measure. It's Steely Dan meets Hugh & Cry meets Little Feat, for those who like comparisons, but this band - truly original and quirky is what they’re all about! ”
