This small community has done a lot in the last month with the land so we decided that we should have a party both to celebrate our new place and mark the origins of the lavra (named after a kind of monasticism in Fourth Century Egypt). The party is named “Stage Apocalypse” and I know this requires some explanation: the previous owners used to host music festivals regularly here and so there are two small stages and a set of overhead lights in the backyard. One of those stages is being repurposed elsewhere on the property so at exactly 11PM after the last band set and everyone’s vision is blurry, we are inviting everyone to bring out their screw guns, drills, or screw drivers and bring to a permanent close the era of the main stage. It is like burning man without the burning. Everyone including all friends, family, and guests are welcome--anyone who might want a night out of the cities. What to bring: One canned good for homeless shelter and any food you want to share with all of us. We will have a series of bands and musicians playing as well as a keg of decent beer, a bunch of munchies, and several camp fires. If anyone needs or wants to camp afterwards, there will be people pitching tents all around. Note that if the fog comes in, it could get chilly so bring a sweater.
We will be playing from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM for a late dinner hour. Come join us for libations and fodder. Get dressed to impress!
