About

AKITSA started in 1999 when we gathered to play what was in our eyes True Black Metal. After a few rehearsals we published our first demo entitled "Totale servitude" at the end of the summer of 1999. The 100 copies of the cassette have been spread fairly fast and some months after Art Fuck Productions showed interest in reissuing our demo on CDR which we did. The CDR version was having some bonus tracks but some songs from the original cassette were missing. The layout of the booklet was totally different from the one of the first version.
In 2001 we started recording again for what would become our first full length album, namely "Goétie". This album was conceived during a long period of almost a year. Surrounded by an aura filled with anger against humankind itself, this album is a tribute to mother nature in all its manifestations. Spreading the plague against a virus that destroys what kept him alive for thousands of years. We managed to have this album released in Europe by an obscure label named Heavy Distortion Records which did the cassette version. Communication with the manager of this label was good until he disappeared from the underground some months after releasing our album on tape without leaving any explanations. Our name was slowly coming out of the mist and a few labels showed interest in our recordings. Two new labels from our homeland offered us to release (showed interest in releasing) our "Goétie" album on CD, those two labels were Warhorn Records (which lived for some time but disappeared some years later) and Productions Vervandi (which have released nothing but the "Goétie" CD). A vinyl version has also been released on the defunct dutch label Satan's Millenium Records.
The "Sang nordique" album saw the light at around the same time. This album was composed and recorded only by O.T. during the last months of 2001. It was created in reaction to what was going on at that time (September 9, 2001). The album is mainly about national identity, globalization, exploitation and other political matters. O.T. decided to release the CD version of this album on Nikuz' Autistiartili Records since he had known Nikuz for years. A tape version and a vinyl version of this album also exist.
These were the early days of AKITSA; we then released several splits (with SATANIC WARMASTER, THESYRE, PRURIENT, THE SHADOW ORDER and NOCTERNITY), a mini-album ("Soleil noir"), an anthology of our early days ("Aube de la misanthropie") and our last album "La grande infamie" which was released June 30, 2006.
The vinyl version of the AKITSA/PRURIENT split is just released through Blasphemous Underground Productions, it comes with a gatefold cover.
Lately the American label Hospital Productions re-released both "Goétie" and "Sang nordique" albums on CD. These two classic opus are now available again from Tour de Garde and Hospital Productions. Various distributors should also get copies. For more informations contact us or one of the mentionned labels.
