Who is ACross Life?

With every ending comes a brand new beginning…

 Formed out of the disbandment of a former college ministry, the core musicians of ACross Life started as a jam band as a way to continue honing their musicianship. Creating a unique fusion of rock, soul, and gospel, Nathaniel Harris (Keys), Giavanti Greenaugh (Guitar), Joey Price (Bass), and Marcus Womack (Drums) would grow a reputation for skilled musicianship, improv, and chemistry, but something was lacking from their sound…to their ministry…

In January of 2006 they recruited D.C.’s own Christian rap pioneer Chris “Enyaphace” Chiles. The mix of a gritty urban rapper meets polished church musicians resulted in a ministry that they would take on the road to places such as Philadelphia, PA, Rochester, NY, and beyond. But that would not be the final piece to the puzzle. Realizing the immense talent and potential of the other members of the Harris family, Steve Harris (Vocals) and Christopher Harris (Secondary Keys) would join the band in the summer of 2006 and serve as the final components to this new sound.

New chapter…new sound…

On January 19, 2007, the band officially became ACross Life. The name came as a result of prayer, fasting, and a serious conviction by God to make His name great in all that the band does. Through this diligence, the band has been able to soar to new heights in music and in ministry. The band, labeled “Next Generation Generals” by Heaven 1580AM’s Jeffrey Tyler, has broke through the mold of the typical “urban gospel sound” and hasn’t looked back ever since. With the release of their debut self produced EP the Marathon (2007) and their follow self-produced live recording ALIVE: ACross Life LIVE! (2008) ACross Life has begun to attract the eyes, ears, and hearts of numerous fans and supporters. In 2007, the band earned second place overall in the DC/Baltimore/Richmond region of The Emergenza International Music Festival. In 2008, ACL drew more national recognition with placement in the fifth anniversary edition of Relevant Magazine.   

The meanings of the name ACross Life:

1) Across Life = The music we’re inspired to create touches on the experiences

we all go through in life. Psalms 108:1-3.

2) A Cross [leads to] Life = The message of salvation in its most simplest form. John 3:16-18.

3) A Cross Life = The description of the life of a True Believer, following

the Word of God and truly walking the Christian walk on a daily basis. Matthew 16:23-25.
