Acid Dub / Press

“Reuters - London Dub music legend Bunny Sugar Bear of the iconic band Acid Dub was found dead on the porch of his Kingston, Jamaica home Friday. Bear's unique "irie beat" style was loved by fans worldwide. The Acid Dub song Dub Dub was a major hit. Bear had been lying face up in a puddle of rusty water for weeks local authorities reported. According to Kingston police, Bear was not reported missing. Foul play isn't suspected as Bear had a frozen grin on his face when he died. Authorities stated that Bear died of massive smoke inhalation weeks ago. Acid Dub Co-Founder Samokem Bigg was called in by police to identify the body. Bigg said "It's ironic that Bunny's face was white when they showed me his moldering corpse. He looked irie. Bunny always felt sorry for white people, and he became one in the end." Bunny Sugar Bear's age remains a mystery. Trenchtown elder Vernon Carrington said "I swear I remember Bunny throwing rocks at British planes flying above during World War Two."”

“Associated Press - London The Jamaicans Without Ganja Foundation in Kingston, JM has sadly reported the passing of Bunny Sugar Bear, founding member of the international reggae band "Acid Dub." Bear was found lying face up with an eerie grin on his face, underneath an overhang on the porch of his Trenchtown residence. A closed casket was required as the rusty water dripping off the tin roof of the shack stained his face to the point that only his grin made him recognizable to local authorities. Reggae fans staged vigils in free countries around the globe playing Acid Dub songs like Dub Dub and Trip Factor on loudspeakers in public squares. Longtime Acid Dub collaborator Samokem Bigg issued the following statement to the press; "We called him Sugar Bear because of how the dandruff on his dreadlocks would sparkle in the tropical sun like a shimmering bud of ganja. Acid Dub will go on in his memory. Long live the legend Bunny Sugar Bear!"”
